Custom
manufacture
Non-standard TCT saw blades, special-dimension machine knives, matched multi-rip sets and bespoke sawmill tooling — manufactured to your drawing, sample or specification. If a standard catalogue item doesn't fit your machine or application, we can make one that does.
What we manufacture
Made to yourspecification
Custom manufacture is called for when the standard catalogue doesn't fit — an older machine with an unusual bore size, a multi-rip setup that needs a specific spacing, a knife head that takes a non-standard blade length, or a profile that doesn't exist in a standard form.
We manufacture locally and source components globally. For TCT blades, we source the correct plate steel, carbide grade and braze material — then assemble, tip and grind in-house. For machine knives, we cut, grind and harden to the correct spec.
Non-standard TCT circular saw blades
Custom diameter and bore combinations, unusual tooth counts, specific hook angles and plate thicknesses for older or imported machines. We can match a worn blade from measurements alone.
Matched multi-rip blade sets
Multi-rip packs with all blades ground to the same geometry, with the correct spacer combination for your machine setup. We can supply the spacers, collars and bore bushings as part of the complete set.
Special-dimension machine knives
Non-standard lengths, widths and thicknesses in HSS M2 and M42 grades. Common requests include knives for older Wadkin, SCM, Weinig and Ledinek machines where standard sizes are no longer stocked by importers.
Finger joint & profile tooling
Finger joint cutter sets, moulding heads and profiled tooling for woodworking machines. Manufactured to drawing — supply a DXF profile or a physical sample and we'll match it.
Reverse engineering from a worn sample. If you have a blade or knife that is worn but still identifiable, send it to us. We can measure the original geometry and manufacture a replacement even without a drawing. This is particularly useful for older machines where the original tooling specification no longer exists.
To get a quote, we need
- A technical drawing (DXF preferred) or dimensional sketch
- Alternatively, a worn sample part we can measure
- Material or steel grade if known (we'll advise if not)
- Quantity required
- The machine make, model and application (helps us verify spec)
- Whether heat treatment or special surface finish is required
Lead times
Standard custom orders — 5–10 working days from drawing approval. Complex multi-component tooling sets — 2–4 weeks depending on material sourcing. We'll confirm lead time with the quote.
For urgent requirements, contact us and we'll advise what's possible. Some simple custom profiles can be turned around in 2–3 days.

Describe the requirement
Call or email with what you need. A drawing is ideal but not always necessary — we can work from a worn part, a machine manual specification, or even a description of the problem you're trying to solve.
Drawing review or reverse engineering
We review your DXF or dimensional drawing, or measure your sample part and create the manufacturing spec. We'll identify anything ambiguous or potentially incorrect before quoting.
Quote
Fixed price quotation including material, manufacture and any heat treatment required. Lead time confirmed at this stage. We don't start until you approve the quote.
Manufacture
Components are cut, machined, heat treated and finished in our Nelspruit workshop — or sourced from our global network if a specific material or sub-component is required from overseas.
Inspection & delivery
Finished parts are dimensionally inspected before dispatch. We courier across Southern Africa. If critical dimensions need to be confirmed against your machine before final acceptance, we can discuss a fit-check protocol.
Common reasons customers come to us for custom manufacture
- Older machine with a non-standard bore or blade diameter
- Imported machine where the original tooling supplier has a long lead time or won't ship to SA
- Multi-rip setup requiring a specific rip width combination not available off-shelf
- Profile knife that no longer exists in any catalogue
- Replacement for a worn or broken custom part with no drawing available
- New machine design or retrofit requiring one-off tooling
