Our story
Built on four decades of knowing the trade
Barry Collier began working in the sawmilling and woodworking supply industry long before the company was formally registered in Nelspruit in 1992. By the time Barry Collier and Co. (Pty) Ltd opened its doors at Riverside Industrial Park, there were already decades of hands-on experience behind it — understanding not just what a sawmill needs to buy, but how it runs, what breaks down, and what keeps it productive.
That depth of industry knowledge is what separates us from a catalogue supplier. When you call about an unusual blade specification, a machine you inherited that nobody seems to make parts for any more, or a cutting problem you can't diagnose — you reach people who have seen it before.
From our 2 000m² facility at Riverside Industrial Park in the heart of Mpumalanga's timber country, we stock a wide range of saw blades, machine knives, abrasives and consumables — and run an in-house workshop capable of sharpening, re-tipping, grinding, waterjet cutting and custom manufacture. We import from Europe, the UK, USA and Asia, and manufacture locally when the specification demands it.

We go looking when you can't find it
Supplier relationships built over more than four decades of active trading don't happen by accident. We import saw blades, machine knives, abrasives and consumables from established manufacturers across Europe, the UK, USA and Asia — and we use those relationships to source items that are unusual, obsolete, or simply not available through normal channels in Southern Africa.
If you are running an older machine, working with a non-standard specification, or need something made to a drawing rather than picked from a shelf — describe the requirement and we will find or make it.
